Eversheds litigation partner Lex Dowie is leaving the firm’s Newcastle office to set up his own practice in Edinburgh.
Dowie, who is due to leave Eversheds in April 2004, is the second litigation partner to exit the firm’s Newcastle office this year. During the summer Lucy Winskell resigned in order to take a career break. In addition, intellectual property partner Alex Shields and banking consultant David Wilson left the Newcastle office for unknown destinations.
In a joint statement Dowie and Eversheds said: “Lex Dowie is leaving Eversheds at the end of April next year to set up his own firm in Edinburgh. He will specialise in cross-border litigation. This move is being made by mutual agreement between Lex and the Eversheds’ partnership. It comes after a 13-year association during which Lex has had a long and successful spell as head of litigation and dispute management in Newcastle. Lex has been very happy at Eversheds but feels now is the time to move on and feels a return to his Scottish roots has obvious attractions.”
