Junior lawyers at Eversheds are to take part in an innovative legal and commercial education project led by the University of Miami School of Law.
The project, LawWithoutWalls, is designed to help future lawyers to innovate, develop commercial skills and improve cross-border working practices in the sector, within the context of real commercial projects.
LawWithoutWalls takes students from major law and business schools around the world and provides them with a collaborative platform to develop their business skills.
Through the partnership, junior lawyers from Eversheds’ global operation and clients of the firm will join students from eighteen universities, bringing their practical expertise to the 2013 programme and developing their commercial know how.
The course includes students from University College London, Miami, Harvard, IE Madrid, Peking Transnational Law School, National Law School of India, Stanford, São Paulo, and Sydney.
Bryan Hughes, Chief Executive of Eversheds said: “LawWithoutWalls is about developing a future generation of lawyers that are commercial, innovative, digitally-savvy and global thinkers. It’s an amazing award winning programme under which leaders from the world of business and academia mentor the next generation of legal and business students to make sure they develop real world commercial skills. It is exactly what our clients ask of us.
“We are committed to continually improving the commercial training of all of our lawyers and this innovative programme will further support our junior lawyers in developing the right skill set to thrive in the new global legal marketplace, learning how to collaborate across borders and time zones so that we can ensure the very highest quality and consistency of service to our clients across the globe.”
