Eversheds gives associates stronger voice

Eversheds is launching an associate forum in its London office to tackle issues affecting junior lawyers at the firm.

London senior partner Anthony Arter is hosting an associate-only meeting on 6 October to discuss the new forum and is establishing a team of associates to lead the group. The group will meet regularly to discuss firm strategy and tackle associate issues.

Arter said: “It’s really important to emphasise that running a firm is not all about the partners. Associates are also crucial to driving strategy and I want them to know they can
play a part in the firm’s development.”

The move is a key part of Arter’s strategy for London after he was appointed office senior partner earlier this month (TheLawyer.com, 27 August).

Arter, who is also head of pensions, introduced an associate forum into his team last year.
