This year, The Lawyer’s annual ranking of the largest UK law firms by turnover is available as an interactive, digital benchmarking tool. For the first time this will allow you to manipulate each data set against the metrics of your choice.
Eversheds has welcomed 22 lawyers to its partnership in this year’s promotions round, an increase of three on last year’s number.
The bulk of the new partners, 12, are based across the firm’s UK offices, with four in London, three each in Birmingham and Cardiff, and two in Newcastle.
Internationally, Johannesburg has received the next largest share of the new partners, with three making the grade in the firm’s office there. There have also been promotions in Berne, Geneva, Munich, Shanghai, Warsaw and Zurich.
In terms of practice groups, 10 have been made up in company commercial, eight in litigation and dispute resolution, two in human resources and two in real estate.
Fifteen of the new partners are male.
In a statement, chief executive Bryan Hughes said: “The strength of our business reflects the strength of our people and we have some exceptional talent across Eversheds.
“To make partner, we ask our lawyers to demonstrate leadership, business acumen and excellence in client service alongside high quality legal expertise. We welcome all of these lawyers to our partnership because they possess all of these qualities and more.
“In one way or another they’ve all demonstrated a commitment to the firm’s strategy and will play a pivotal role as we continue to develop our practice in cities around the world.”
The total of 22 promotions is an increase on the 19 partners who made the grade last year (19 April 2010), but is still some way behind the 32 who were made up in 2009 (11 May 2009) and the 30 the firm promoted in 2008 (14 April 2008).
