Eversheds' Newcastle office is bolstering its banking department with the addition of a partner from rival firm Robert Muckle.Nick On, a partner in both banking and IT/IP at Robert Muckle, is leaving the firm after seven years and is serving a three-month notice period. He will join Eversheds in August.Ian Gilthorpe, managing partner at Robert Muckle, says: "Nick wanted to concentrate on banking, but not do the IT/IP side of things."He adds: "I told Nick he should make up his mind what he wanted to do, so I could hardly complain when he went off to become a banking partner."Equity partner On confirmed his resignation, but refused to comment further.Gilthorpe says On's departure is amicable, but says he will not be replacing him. "Organisations and people move on, which gives opportunities to people further down the line."He adds: "On leaves with good grace and it is up to us to keep out-performing Eversheds - which I don't think will be a problem."Eversheds confirmed On's employment.
