Eversheds’ Copenhagen managing partner Troels Askerud has announced that he will quit the firm.
The details of Askerud’s departure, including his next move, have not been announced but according to legal website RollonFriday three more partners are considering leaving the firm’s Denmark office.
Askerud helped found the Copenhagen office and also led the corporate practice at the eight-partner office. Eversheds chief executive Bryan Hughes said that the firm has no intention of shutting the office.
“We’ve been looking at the shape and structure of our operations in Copenhagen to ensure that they’re as efficient and effective as possible,” said Hughes. “This activity is ongoing and in keeping with our objective to continually consider where we can make improvements across the business.
“Troels Askerud has announced his resignation to staff in Copenhagen, and will be leaving the business. We’re extremely grateful to Troels for everything he’s done to develop Copenhagen over the years. The remaining partners are committed to building the business and we’re looking forward to working with them.
“We’ve no plans to close the office, which will continue to be an important element of our international offering.”
