Eversheds consolidates Midlands management

Eversheds has announced plans to consolidate its Midlands offices under one management team.

This follows a similar process instituted in the North and South.

Cardiff, Birmingham and Nottingham will operate under one banner, the Central region, and with one management team from May 1, 2005.

Eversheds’ managing partner David Gray explained that the restructuring means that the firm will have less middle-managers and that those freed from management responsibility will be able to focus on fee-earning.

The firm’s offices in Leeds, Manchester and Newcastle were reorganised into a Northern region recently. Similarly, London, Cambridge, Ipswich and Norwich have been amalgamated.

Alan Meredith, currently managing partner for the Cardiff office, will become managing partner for the Central region. Meg Heppel, presently managing partner for the Midlands, will lead the real estate team for the new combined offices and will also be senior office partner for the Birmingham office. Corporate partner David Wild will be senior office partner for Nottingham.
