Eversheds bags more work from Lend Lease

The firm will now advise on the Touchwood Shopping Centre in Solihull as well as Lend Lease's flagship project, the Bluewater Shopping and Leisure Centre.

This latest appointment comes a year after Eversheds won a competitive tender to replace Linklaters for ongoing asset management work on Bluewater. The appointment was seen as a trial run that could be rolled out to other centres if successful.

This time it is understood that Eversheds has replaced Travers Smith Braithwaite as the main adviser for ongoing work at Touchwood. Eversheds' Birmingham property head Tim Webb, who is also responsible for leading the practice's international development, is acting as the relationship partner for the new client.

The appointment further consolidates Eversheds' presence in the sector. Its relationship with Hammerson helped win a key role on the BullRing, a huge retail development in Birmingham. Eversheds is acting for the Birmingham Alliance, which is made up of Hammerson, Land Securities and Henderson Global Investors.

The Lawyer understands that Henderson is also putting work out to tender on its retail warehouse fund. Eversheds is likely to be in the running, as well as incumbent advisers including CMS Cameron McKenna and Nicholson Graham & Jones.

Eversheds' financial services team, led by Pamela Thompson, already has a relationship with Henderson's parent company AMP as well as with Henderson itself.
