Eversheds has hired two finance partners in a bid to enhance its City and international capital markets expertise.
The firm has brought on board former McDermott Will & Emery group head of securitisation and structured finance Paul-Michael Rebus and former Hammonds partner Steven Geerlings.
The new arrivals are to help the firm target the financial institution client base, which Eversheds has identified as a key growth area for the coming years.
Rebus has previous experience of building up a team, having established the securitisation practice at McDermott in 2006.
Geerlings specialises in asset-based lending (ABL) and acts for ABL providers on a pan-European basis. At Hammonds he was based between the Brussels and London offices and he will continue to work with clients in Europe. Prior to Hammonds he worked in-house at Cedel Bank and GE Commercial Distribution Finance Europe.
Head of Eversheds’ finance group Simon Waller commented: “We have national capital markets expertise, but both of these hires are about developing London and international strands. We’re taking this opportunity to invest in two high-calibre individuals who’ll complement a strong existing team.”
