Eversheds has hired a Beijing-based Norton Rose partner to lead its China practice from Paris.
Corporate partner Virginie Deslandres, who joined Norton Rose in 2001 from Vovan & Associés to help lead the firm’s charge into China (29 October 2001), has now taken on a similar mandate at Eversheds.
French national Deslandres is relocating from Beijing to Eversheds’ Paris office, but will work across a number of offices on China-related matters acting as the cross-border coordinator of the firm’s China practice in Europe. Deslandres has been working in China for more than 25 years, specialising in advising European companies across Asia on M&A, joint ventures and corporate restructurings.
In a statement, Eversheds Europe managing partner Michael Brown said: “For a number of years, a growing part of the Paris office’s activity has involved Asian and China matters.
“Virginie’s one of Europe’s best known lawyers for matters concerning European and French investment in China. She has extensive knowledge and expertise of the Chinese world and assisting clients in increasingly complex multi-jurisdictional matters involving China.”
