This course has been specifically designed for those coming to immigration law for the first time most often, but not exclusively, through their employment and/or corporate law practice. Immigration law is a growth area with more overseas businesses wanting to establish and maintain a presence in this jurisdiction. It is also an area that is in constant flux with regular statutory and case law developments. The course will give you an overview of immigration practice, including application procedure and the appeals process. You will be taken through the various options for entry as a “student”, the different criteria that apply to each route (including sponsorship, maintenance funds, English Language), the procedure for applying and documents required in support of a claim under each head including: * Tier 4 (General) Student * Tier 4 (Child) Student * Student Visitors * Prospective Students * Switching between categories, the rights of dependents, length of stay, work placements, conditions attached to visa, appeal options.
