Norton Rose has announced a double partner hire in Amsterdam. Herman Wamelink has joined as banking partner from Allen & Overy and Maartje Govaert has been hired as an employment partner from De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek. Wamelink was a counsel at his old firm and Govaert was a solicitor.
Central & Eastern Europe
Helen Rodwell has been appointed as managing partner of CMS in Prague, succeeding Iveta Plachá who in turn has become senior partner of the office. Rodwell has been based in Prague since 1999, advising on corporate transactions. She also oversees the firm’s Central and Eastern Europe corporate practice group. Plachá has been managing partner since January 2007.
Field Fisher Waterhouse’s Paris office has hired litigation partner Brigitte Daille-Duclos. Duclos specialises in product liability and industrial risk, and joins the firm from De Gaulle Fleurance & Associés, where she was also a partner.
French firm SBKG & Associés has hired former trademark attorney Maria Luisa Arce-Torrecilla as a legal team. Arce-Torrecilla joins SBKG from IP litigation boutique Marchais de Candé. She will work alongside Delphine Brunet-Stoclet. Arce-Torrecilla is dual-qualified in Peru and France.
Oppenhoff & Partner has hired Stefanie Minzenmay as a partner in its real estate team. Minzenmay is returning to the firm, where she previously worked, after three years running her own practice.europ
German boutique Glade Michel Wirtz has hired two partners from Shearmna & Sterling’s Düsseldorf and Munich offices, its first lateral hire since its 2007 launch (13 April 2012).
Corporate partner Christopher Wolff has been appointed chair of Paul Hastings’ Frankfurt office. He takes over from Peter Smeets.
Irish firm Dillon Eustace has become the first onshore firm to open an office in the Cayman Islands, hiring two lawyers to focus on funds and litigation work (23 April 2012).
The former name partner of Italian technology-focused firm Portolano Colella Cavallo, Domenico Colella, has joined Orsingher to launch a Rome office (18 April 2012).
Russia and CIS
Igor Gorchakov has joined Allen & Overy as a partner in its Moscow-based banking department. The Russian lawyer was a partner at Baker & McKenzie in St Petersburg for five years.
