The Lawyer Awards 2013 in association with Travelers is open for entry, and the biggest night in the legal profession’s calendar has got even bigger.
The Lawyer has introduced two new categories to the awards for 2013 - Funds Team of the Year and Client Partner of the Year – with in-house lawyers being given the chance to vote for their choice of client partner. Also for the first time The Lawyer will invite some of the successful shortlisted firms and individuals to take part in roundtable discussions – more information on which will be available in the spring.
Firms have until Friday 22 February to make their case and enter the awards, and there is no fee to submit, although The Lawyer does ask for a donation to a charity of our choice. Shortlisted entrants will be announced in The Lawyer magazine in May with the winners revealed during a glittering awards ceremony at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel on Tuesday 25 June.
At 2012’s packed bash, which was hosted by comedian Jason Manford and featured the great and good of the legal profession, Mishcon de Reya took the top prize when it was crowned Law Firm of the Year in recognition of its long-term strategic vision and its canny decision to invest during the downturn (27 June 2012). Other noteworthy winners included Brick Court as Chambers of the Year, and star of the Leveson Inquiry Robert Jay, who took the gong for Barrister of the Year.
