A former Enron in-house lawyer appeared in court last week charged with stealing more than £400,000 from the US energy group

Marcus von Bock und Polach was charged with theft and false accounting in relation to a UK-based subsidiary of the defunct company and another Enron company. Von Bock, a specialist in corporate and structured finance, had been a senior Enron lawyer in the UK for some four years. He was remanded on bail and is due to appear in court again on 23 July.
