Music giant EMI has elected Chris Ancliff to replace Charles Ashcroft as general counsel. Ashcroft was replaced by Ancliff, the former associate general counsel, last month (January) due to health reasons. Ancliff has been tasked with heading EMI's legal affairs group and will report directly to chief executive Eric Nicoli. He will also take on a communications role as government relations officer. EMI, which is the world's largest independent music company, reported a revenue of £867.9m and £62.7m profit for the six months ending 30 September last year.
