South Wales and London firm Morgan Bruce has won the contract to provide legal services to the Human Fertilisation Embryology Authority.
The firm, awarded the contract from a short-list of seven firms, will provide advice on issues relating to HFEA legislation and policy.
The regulatory body, formed in 1990, controls the activity of clinics carrying out fertility treatments, including in vitro fertilisation and donor insemination, and regulates storage of gametes and embryos.
Graham Miles, a partner in Morgan Bruce's health group, said that the firm's success in the bid reflected its "level of expertise in areas of public law and health-related work in particular".
Miles added: "We look forward to assisting the HFEA in its focused, sensitive responsibility for the efficient regulation of matters pertaining to fertilisation and embryology in the UK."
