Elliott & Co PI partner heads to Hill Dickinson

The London office of Elliot & Company is losing its personal injury partner, Geoffrey Keens, this week when he leaves to join the insurance

litigation department of Hill Dickinson.

Keens is leaving the firm after seven years to develop Hill Dickinson's personal injury presence in London.

He acquired his specialism in personal injury when he was a partner at the former London firm RI Lewis.

He said: “I am joining Hills for the challenge of developing a new practice from scratch. My move is nothing more than a strategic career move.”

Hill Dickinson is in the process of appointing a number of new partners to its Manchester and London offices as part of a general expansion policy. And it is replacing insurance litigation partner Paul Large, who leaves in April 1997 for Hammond Suddards.

Also joining the insurance litigation department is Greg Plunkett, from Peter Rickson & Partners in Preston, and another partner who cannot be named yet.

The firm is looking for a partner to join its goods and transit department in London; it recruited three new partners back in May.

Elliotts, which has an office in Manchester and London, was involved in serious merger talks with Dibb Lupton Broomhead last year.

Dibbs was attracted to Elliotts' strong insurance practice but talks broke down in the final stages.
