The firm has taken on Teacher Stern IP partner Simon Miles, Royds Solicitors litigation partner Vivien Davies, Fasken Martineau’s former head of employment Ruth Hickling and David Goepel, who joins as a partner but was formerly of counsel at Withers.

According to senior partner Christopher Berry (pictured), the firm made the hires in the IP and private client practices to create a route for succession ahead of partner retirements.

The news comes as Edwin Coe’s star litigation partner David Greene won an instruction from a group of Madoff investors looking at a possible action against intermediary banks HSBC, UBS and Barclays over advice they gave in relation to Madoff ’s $50bn (£35.02bn) Ponzi scheme.
