George left Sony BMG last year to launch his own consultancy (The Lawyer, 30 October 2006). He joined Sony Music in 1994 as business affairs manager from London firm Compton Carr, where he spent eight years. During his 13 years at Sony,George handled the merger of Sony's and Warner's distribution businesses, the UK and Irish aspects of the Sony BMG merger and the resigning of George Michael to the label in 2003.
