edge ellison poaches third partner from rival Manches

EDGE ELLISON has poach ed Manches & Co banking and insolvency partner, Lorinda Peasland.

Peasland is the third Manches banking and insolvency partner to join edges in the past year.

Her appointment follows edges' capture of head of banking Andrew Knight and head of insolvency Andrew Visintin in April.

Peasland becomes a partner at edges' finance law and banking team in London, where she will specialise in insolvency litigation.

Keith Ainsworth, head of finance law at edges' London office, says: “We didn't have a partner in London working on the contentious side in insolvency and Lorinda is the last piece in the jigsaw.”

Peasland acted in the high-profile case of Malik and Mahmood v BCCI, which established the principle of stigma damages for former employees of the discredited bank.

edges partner Simon Boss has been appointed head of the firm's retail property unit, replacing fellow partner Ian Withers.
