Arthur Andersen's affiliated law firm, Ede Charlton & Co in Hong Kong, has snatched a partner from Holman Fenwick & Willan's Hong Kong office as it continues to expand its operation in the city.
Gavin Nesbitt, a corporate finance partner at Holman Fenwick, recently joined the firm where he will be a partner in its corporate and finance department.
He will be joined by another new recruit, Philip Millward, an investment funds specialist whose work experience in the city included a three-year stint at Stephenson Harwood & Lo.
Nesbitt's appointment is the latest in a line of high-profile hirings since the firm was established just over a year ago by Justin Ede, formerly a partner at the London office of Garret & Co, Arthur Andersen's affiliate law firm in the UK.
Julia Charlton, an ex-Simmons & Simmons corporate partner , set up the firm with Ede while Nigel Bacon, a former academic and Herbert Smith property partner, and Bernard Fleming, an ex-consultant with the leading local firm Deacons Graham & James, joined the partnership last year.
