Ski-jump hero Eddie 'the Eagle' Edwards is contemplating a career as a solicitor after graduating from De Montfort University Leicester with a 2:2 in law.
Edwards, who shot to fame as the UK's first and only ski jumper at the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics, is planning to take some time out before leaping into any career decisions.
He said: "I've been accepted to study the postgraduate LPC, but I've decided to take a year out before going back to study, to think about my options. The main reason I did the degree is because it opens up so many more avenues to me. I'm interested in a career in the legal profession, or possibly with the police."
Edwards, 39, a former plasterer, added: "I really enjoyed being a student, but now that I'm married and have my degree, I'd like to settle down with a stable job that will provide for me and my family."
As Lawyer 2B reported last year, Edwards has been in talks with major production companies and hopes that his life story will be made into a film later this year. Both Ewan McGregor and Mike Myers have been rumoured to be in line to play the title role.
