Ealing to re-examine overflow firm roster

The public sector body manages the majority of its legal work in-house. However, it does send overflow work to panel members in cases where it lacks specific capacity or expertise, as well as tendering outside the panel for specific projects, such as on Building Schools for the Future.

Director of legal and democratic services Helen Harris said: “We’ll be looking at our panel over the next few months, it’s creaking with age. We may join an existing consortium, buy off an L-Cat type model or refresh our existing arrangement. We’re looking at all options.”

In the past the organisation has been advised by a number of firms, including Nabarro, Pinsent Masons, Sharpe Pritchard and Trowers & Hamlins.
