DWS teams up with Saudi firm for Riyadh launch

Denton Wilde Sapte (DWS) has launched its partnership in Saudi Arabia by joining forces with a local practice and scooping a Fulbright & Jaworski senior associate to head the office.

Fulbright’s Amged Hussein will join the firm as it embarks on its new association with local lawyer Wael Abdulrahman Alissa.

DWS managing partner Howard Morris said: “We’ve done business in Saudi for a number of years so we’re extremely familiar with the market. We had talks with other firms, but felt that Wael was the best lawyer to be working with.”

A number of UK firms now have operations established in Saudi, including White & Case and Allen & Overy.

Earlier this month The Lawyer revealed that Trowers & Hamlins had launched its new partnership with local Saudi firm Feras Al Shawaf after the breakdown of its association with Hassan Mahassni.

Morris said: “We’ve been in talks with Wael since last autumn. It is not easy finding the right association. We’re confident about this partnership.”
