Denton Wilde Sapte (DWS) has underscored its dedication to emerging markets by advising on the largest-ever loan in the Ukraine. The DWS team, led by banking and finance partner Jonathan Solomon, advised BNP Paribas as lead arranger on the $1.5bn (£740m) loan for Ukrainian mining and metals group Metinvest. Solomon said: "The deal is significant because the Ukraine hasn't seen a loan of this size before. Quite a lot of work went into making sure the loan was bankable." DWS has advised on a number of other transactions in the jurisdiction, including a $400m (£196.7m) loan facility for industrial holding company System Capital Management.
