DWF is launching an office in Birmingham with Shoosmiths’ head of asset finance.
The new office will expand the firm’s asset finance practice as well as its lender services team. Partner Joanne Davis will launch the new office, joining from Shoosmiths, where she is head of asset finance.
As well as developing the firm’s asset finance and regulatory practices, Davis will join its lender services team.
In a statement, managing partner Andrew Leaitherland said: “Birmingham’s long since been a strategic target for the firm to ensure we’re based exactly where our clients need us.
“The city also has a great talent pool of lawyers, many with the expertise and knowledge of the market sectors in which we specialise and aim to develop in the future.”
DWF has offices in Leeds, Liverpool, London, Manchester, Newcastle and Preston.

Makes sense to enter a market that is not already saturated.
Oh, hang on...

DWF seems to be doing well. I appreciate the likes of Pinsent Masons and other firms of the like etc now paint themselves as 'international law firms' but they are still all but in name 'nationals' with the bulk of their fee earners in regional offices, they should looking over their shoulders at the likes of DWF, as DWF's renevue and profit growth has been far superior of late.

Let's hope this launch goes better than the Newcastle one (a damp squib of poor lateral hires).
