Two Field Fisher Waterhouse partners have left the firm’s Hamburg office to set up their own practice.
M&A partner Frank Moerchen and real estate partner Thomas Demmel were both among the founders of the office in 2007. They are leaving to launch CORE Business Lawyers, where they will be joined by former FFW associate Kurt Luka.
The pair joined from former German alliance firm Buse Heberer Fromm. Moerchen had also been responsible for the strategic development of FFW in Germany.
The departures leave a rump of just four partners at the firm’s Hamburg office.
A spokesperson for FFW said: “Having worked with Michael Adam, Philipp Plog, Alexandra von Bismarck and Felix Wittern to establish Field Fisher Waterhouse Deutschland, Frank Moerchen and Thomas Demmel have decided to move on and set up their own practice - CORE Business Lawyers LLP - focusing on corporate and real estate transactions.
“They leave with Field Fisher Waterhouse’s good wishes for the success of their practice.”
