Dundas & Wilson is preparing for a round of staff job cuts and is also expected to slash partner numbers after assessing what a spokesperson termed “the nature and level of demand for its services”.
Staff at the firm were told yesterday whether they were part of the redundancy pool and, according to sources close to the firm, Dundas is also looking at cutting partners.
It is understood that the redundancies will affect the property litigation and corporate practices, with five at risk in London and more in Scotland.
In a statement, a spokesperson for the firm said: “We can confirm that the firm has undertaken a preliminary assessment of the nature and level of demand for its services over the next few years.
“Following this review we have concluded that it will be necessary to reshape some practice areas to reflect the anticipated business needs. Regrettably, this process of realignment will likely lead to the loss of some positions.”
Earlier this month, Dundas opened a corporate-focused office in Aberdeen (2 February 2012).
