Dundas & Wilson managing partner Donald Shaw has paid tribute to the firm’s UK corporate recovery head Ian Cuthbertson, who died suddenly yesterday aged 58.
Cuthbertson was widely recognised as one of the pre-eminent lawyers in the restructuring sector and a recognised authority on insolvency and restructuring in Scotland.
“He was justifiably proud of his eminent rating in the ‘World’s Leading Insolvency and Restructuring Lawyers’ and the ‘Who’s Who of International Restructuring and Insolvency Lawyers’,” said Shaw.
“Ian’s death has come as a terrible shock to all of us at the firm and we extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends. This is a very sad day for the firm.”
Cuthbertson joined Dundas in 1997 when the firm he co-founded,Dorman Jeffrey, was taken over by the Scottish giant. Previously he had been a partner at local firm Boyds.
