Downton Abbey actors join Taylor Wessing in gala dinner for Changing Faces

The stars of Downton Abbey joined Taylor Wessing for a gala dinner at the Bloomsbury Ballroom on 27 March, raising more than £70,000 for Changing Faces, a charity for people living with conditions, marks or scars that affect their appearance.

The evening, which was co-sponsored by Taylor Wessing and Google, included a cabaret performance by Downton stars including Michelle Dockery, Lily James, Phyllis Logan and Lesley Nicol, and was compèred by Rob James-Collier and Allen Leech, who play Thomas Barrow and Tom Branson in the programme.

More than £70,000 was raised through an auction that included prizes such as dinner with the Downton stars, a week’s skiing in La Clusaz, Switzerland, and a chance to go behind the scenes at Downton Abbey. Raffle prizes included a Mayan gold necklace by luxury womenswear designer Helen Spencer, a luxury leather handbag by meli melo and tickets to the English National Opera.
