Eversheds hire" />Eversheds' former London litigation chief Tim Maloney has defected to US firm Dorsey & Whitney, where he joins as a partner.
Maloney, who takes up his post at Dorsey on 14 August, has been drafted in to strengthen the Minneapolis-headquartered firm's dispute offering in London.
His move comes just months after Dorsey lost a four-lawyer litigation team to LG (TheLawyer.com, 8 May).
Dorsey managing partner Marianne Short said the firm's strategic plan emphasises growth in London. "For us, Tim is just the right lawyer, in just the right practice, in just the right place. He is a key addition for us," added Short.
On his move to the US firm, Maloney said: "Dorsey provides me with an opportunity to further expand my business and financial litigation practice and offers my clients access to exceptional lawyers across a broad range of industry sectors and across a multitude of jurisdictions."
Maloney is the third Eversheds litigation partner to leave this year with dispute resolution partners Gerallt Owen and Peter Kiernan moving to the London office of Washington DC-based Crowell & Moring five months ago. (The Lawyer, 17 March).
