Dorsey gets Lundin work due to good Talisman

The London office of Dorsey & Whitney has acted for Canadian oil and gas giant Talisman Energy for the first time and gained a new role advising Swedish target Lundin Oil.
London partner John Basnage advised Talisman on its successful £248m public offer for Lundin, now delisted from the Stockholmbörsen and Nasdaq.
The firm’s Seattle office has a longstanding relationship with Talisman. Basnage, now the principal UK contact for Talisman, said that London expects to be involved in future compliance and US capital markets work for the client.
“We anticipate that Talisman will continue to make acquisitions in Europe,” he said. “This is the first time we’ve had the chance to show Talisman our public M&A capabilities in London.
“This is also the first time we’ve had the critical mass to do this size of deal.”
