Dorrk balk

Tulkinghorn has claimed some big scalps in his time, but he was more than a little pleased with himself last week when sources revealed the real reason behind the collapse of the Dewey Ballantine and Orrick merger talks.

“It was that Tulkinghorn piece, where he christened the firm ‘Dorrk’,” said one relieved partner. “All the partners realised they were going to be forevermore known as dorks, and we couldn’t allow ourselves to be ridiculed in that way.”

Regular readers will recall the 30 October 2006 piece where Tulkinghorn and his scribes played the name game and had fun with the anagram generator, turning Dewey Orrick into ‘Dicey Rework’.
