Dibb Lupton Alsop is masterminding PFI projects for the Department of Education (DoE) in Northern Ireland.
The firm has advised the DoE on a PFI-funded school in Dungannon, plus the provision of accommodation and services at a college in Londonderry. Four other PFI projects in the province are in the pipeline, all of which will see Dibbs acting as adviser.
Dibbs' Liverpool head of property Mark Beardwood led a team of commercial, employment and construction lawyers on the Londonderry project. He says this is the most complicated PFI package ever signed for a further education institution in the UK.
Dibb's head of PFI Tony Randall says: "The negotiations were relatively long, having to grapple with some new and difficult commercial issues. However, the spirit of partnership and cooperation from all the parties was strong and led to problems being worked through."
