Just two months after nine Brisbane partners jumped ship to Thomsons Lawyers comes the news that six out of the firm’s eight Canberra partners are off to establish a new office for Aussie national firm HWL Ebsworth (see story ).
DLA Piper Australia, as it has been known since 1 May, is now down to 106 partners. That’s more than a third fewer than were knocking around in 2008.
And with only two partners left padding around in DLA’s lonely Canberra halls, it seems the nascent merger is not to everyone’s pleasing.
