DLA has recruited Simmons & Simmons’ former finance director to be its new chief financial officer in the lead up to the firm’s merger vote with US suitor Piper Rudnick.
Paul Edwards spent seven years at Simmons during which time he oversaw the restructuring of the firm’s remuneration system.
He will replace David Liddle, DLA’s finance director since 1990. Liddle will remain at the firm as an executive director, reporting to managing partner Nigel Knowles and responsible for further integration of DLA group.
Edwards starts at DLA on 1 November, one month before the DLA Piper Rudnick merger is put to the vote.
