DLA swallows Milan property boutique

DLA Piper has bolstered its Milan real estate practice through a merger with boutique firm Apollo & Associati.

The four-lawyer group, including founding partner Davide Apollo, will join DLA Piper at the start of the year. One associate will be joining DLA Piper as a partner, boosting the Italian real estate practice to five partners in total.

DLA Italy managing partner, Federico Sutti, said he would be on the look out for more hiring opportunities: “For our growth strategy in Italy, we could find two more lawyers of the same seniority as Davide Apollo, in M&A and banking, who would want to share opportunities with us.”

Italian real estate partner Olaf Schmidt is set to takeover from London partner David Taylor as head of DLA Piper’s Europe, Middle East and Africa real estate group.
