DLA Piper's Sheffield office is to host former US vice-president Al Gore at a climate change conference in the city next month.
Gore will make the keynote address at the 'Cooling the Planet' conference, which is expected to attract up to 1,000 delegates from across the globe representing the legal, political and economic communities. DLA Piper Sheffield managing partner Paul Firth said: "This is a real coup for Sheffield to attract such high-calibre speakers and delegates."
DLA Piper chairman, Senator George Mitchell will chair the conference. Mitchell was the Democratic Party's majority leader of the senate when Gore was inaugurated as the 45th vice-president in 1993.
DLA Piper head of safety, health and environmental Teresa Hitchcock, who is based in Sheffield, will also speak at the conference.
