DLA Piper Rudnick Gray Cary looks set to add Belgium to its growing collection of Coudert Brother offices
The DLA Piper partnership is voting on a proposal to take up to 34 lawyers including eight partners and up to 26 other fee earners. If the vote goes through the new recruits would give DLA Piper more than 100 lawyers in Belgium split between Brussels and Antwerp.
The potential new partners are Francis Goffin, Yves Tavernier, Herman Lemaire, Jean-Michel Detry, Paulette Vander Schueren, Alois Puts, Bertold Bar-Bouyssiere, and Marc Ryckman. The deal would leave the Coudert office with ten partners still looking for new homes.
Steven De Keyser, managing partner of DLA Piper Belgium, told The Lawyer: "This deal compliments our existing business by giving us a higher visibility in the French speaking market, a strong antitrust practice and makes us a full size firm in Belgium."
