DLA Piper strengthens corporate crime team

DLA Piper has beefed up its corporate crime team with the appointment of Peters & Peters partner Jo Rickards.
Rickards joins the firm after more than two decades at Peters & Peters, where she rose from trainee to co-head of the fraud practice with Monty Raphael.
DLA Piper Europe, Middle East and Africa head of corporate crime and investigations Jonathan Pickworth said it was a key hire for the firm.
“We’ll continue to appoint specialist, experienced personnel such as Jo and DLA Piper intends to strengthen its market-leading position,” he said. “This is against a background of other firms trying to enter the market with lawyers who might well be excellent litigators, but who lack experience of the criminal law that underpins today’s regulatory framework.”
Rickards counts the FSA, SFO, and HM Revenue & Customs among her clients.
