DLA Piper partner quits equity" />DLA Piper private equity partner Andrew Holt is leaving the firm’s equity to become a consultant in its Manchester office.
Holt, a former head of private equity at DLA Piper, said he wanted to spend more time with his family, who live in the city, and also pursue a business opportunity outside the law.
However, he will continue to work at the firm and will retain an office in London.
The move came shortly after the firm announced that private equity partner Jonathan Richards will retrain as an insolvency lawyer and join the restructuring practice.
Holt said he would continue to represent clients, adding: “That’s very important to me. I’ve spent a long time at DLA Piper and I’m proud of what we’ve done. I don’t want to give that up.”
Holt will also spend time working with a start-up business venture in Manchester. He said this would not have been possible as an equity partner at the firm.
Joint CEO Nigel Knowles praised Holt’s contribution to the firm, adding: “He’s decided to step out and he’s going to be a consultant.”
