DLA Piper joint chief exec Lee Miller re-elected" />DLA Piper joint chief executive Lee Miller (pictured) has been elected to serve another four years as head of the firm’s US operations.
The announcement means the leadership of the firm is likely to remain unchanged until at least 2013.
This week it was revealed that UK-based joint-CEO Nigel Knowles intends to stand for re-election when his term ends in December (The Lawyer.com, 28 August). He is unlikely to be opposed.
The US leadership vote took place on 11 August and was uncontested.
Miller’s term will run from January 2009 until December 2013. He has reappointed Terry O’Mally to serve as US managing partner. Knowles and Miller have led DLA Piper through the transatlantic merger of Gray Cary Ware & Freidenrich and Piper Rudnick in 2005, and the firm’s subsequent aggressive international expansion. This year DLA Piper became the latest firm to break the $2bn (£1.01bn) mark for global turnover, with revenues of $2.1bn (£1.07bn) (The Lawyer.com, 15 February).
