DLA Piper grows Singapore with Norton Rose hire

DLA Piper has hired a special counsel from Norton Rose to lead its restructuring and distressed investment team in Asia.

Troy Doyle has been appointed as a partner in DLA Piper’s Singapore office and will lead the firm’s Asia restructuring and distressed investment team. He joins the firm from Norton Rose’s Sydney office, having moved to legacy firm Deacons from Clifford Chance in 2009.

Doyle specialises in financial and corporate restructuring advice, distressed mergers and acquisitions and distressed debt trading.

In a statement, DLA Piper’s Asia managing partner Lance Miller said: “Distressed investment opportunities are likely to be growing in scale and number given the ongoing volatility in financial markets and economic uncertainty combined with increased cross-border business in the region. Having Troy on board to drive the team regionally allows us to ramp up our capabilities to counsel clients in this key area.”

DLA Piper’s Singapore office is led by Matthew Glynn, who recently relocated from the firm’s Dubai office.
