DLA Piper joint chief executive Nigel Knowles looks set to stand unopposed for reelection.
According to a spokesperson at the firm the period for partners to put themselves forward as candidates for the joint chief executive role lapses at the end of this month. At present, Knowles is the only candidate.
Knowles’ three-year term as joint chief executive comes to an end next month. If successful, he will begin his new term in January 2012.
Knowles shares the chief executive role with Lee Miller, who is based in Chicago.
Earlier this month DLA Piper hired former Linklaters chief Tony Angel as senior partner of the firm’s international LLP, the non-US side of its business (8 November 2011).

Unopposed?
That's like saying Darth Vader is unopposed.
