DLA Piper has boosted its Oslo office with the hire of two general counsels.
Fredrik Lykke, general counsel at Norwegian telecommunications company Telenor, joins as a corporate partner. Hans Christian Brodtkorb joins as a partner in the real estate and construction group from NCC Construction.
Brodtkorb said DLA’s Oslo office would expand further due to the shear amount of work: “We will definitely grow in the real estate and construction department. There is far too much work for the lawyers here.”
Lykke’s practice will focus on M&A deals, international joint ventures and capital markets work in the telecoms industry, whereas Brodtkorb is a specialist in real estate development and PPP projects.
Brodtkorb said: “I set up the legal department at NCC three years ago, and now it’s up and running I wanted to have a new challenge.”
