This year, The Lawyer’s annual ranking of the largest UK law firms by turnover is available as an interactive, digital benchmarking tool. For the first time this will allow you to manipulate each data set against the metrics of your choice.
DLA Piper has promoted 66 to its partnership globally, taking the firm's total partnership past 1,200. The firm has added 39 new partners in the US, with the remaining 27 spread across Europe and Asia.
London was the most heavily promoted office, with 10 new partners: finance got three, litigation and real estate two each, with corporate, employment and regulatory bagging one apiece, as first revealed on www. thelawyer.com (9 February).
In the UK, Birmingham, Leeds and Liverpool all received two new partners, while Edinburgh, Glasgow and Sheffield had one each.
The firm has also moved 21 lawyers to the legal director level, which was introduced on 1 January after a career development review, while 111 lawyers started the new year with promotions to associate across Europe and Asia.
The firm's global people officer Robert Halton said: "The new level within the fee-earning career structure provides greater career development opportunities for our lawyers. It also offers a promotion route for those lawyers who do not aspire to join the partnership."
