DLA Piper has revamped its corporate practice in the North West by appointing new heads of corporate in Manchester and Liverpool.
Jonathan Watkins takes up the newly created Manchester role, while David Cadwallader becomes head of corporate in Liverpool. Watkins said the move was designed to focus on the separate business opportunities in the two cities. “The markets in Manchester and Liverpool are different,” he said. “There’s more institutional work in Manchester and more entrepreneurial work in Liverpool.” Watkins’ clients include JJB Sports, Timpson Group and Enterprise. Last year he advised selling shareholders in the £900m IPO of Moneysupermarket.com.
