DLA is accelerating its push into Germany with the hire of Clifford Chance corporate partner Martin Schulte.
Düsseldorf-based Schulte will join DLA’s growing Cologne office later this month.
As first revealed on www.thelawyer.com (21 July), DLA debuted in Germany following a split from its former German ally Görg Rechtsanwalte. The split saw DLA poach former Görg managing partner Ulrich Jungst to open its own Cologne office.
In August, the UK firm again raided Görg to secure three partners and 10 associates to launch in Hamburg. Last month it turned its acquisitive attentions to Lovells, hiring project finance associate Frank Roth, who joins DLA as a partner.
Schulte may be the second Clifford Chance partner in as many weeks to jump ship. Last week German magazine Juve revealed that highly rated private equity star Volker Kullmann was in advanced talks with Kirkland & Ellis.
