DLA has poached Richards Butler partner Andrew Herring to bolster the firm’s growing transport team.
A mainstream corporate partner, Herring has advised numerous clients in the transport sector, including GNER and a number of companies providing services in connection with the Athens Olympics. He was previously a liaison partner in Richards Butler’s Middle East practice.
“Herring’s vast experience of advising on rail franchising for GNER and his corporate commercial expertise will be a real boost to the growth of the commercial and projects team’s Birmingham office,” said partner Mark Swindell.
The hire is part of DLA’s expansion in this sector. It recently advised Merseytravel on the transfer of responsibility for franchising passenger rail services and is also advising the promoters of proposed light rail systems in Edinburgh, Leeds, Liverpool, Nottingham and South Hampshire.
Herring joins the firm today (3 November).
