DLA Piper Madrid has hired a restructuring team from independent Spanish firm Roca Junyent.
Insolvency expert Javier Díaz-Gálvez, and economist Luis Martin both join DLA Piper as partners in its Madrid restructuring group. The two partners are joined by a team of 11 lawyers and economists.
Díaz-Gálvez specialises in insolvency and restructuring, advising international and domestic corporates on formal insolvency, corporate restructuring and contentious issues. He is also an M&A lawyer.
Martin is an economist and previously head of restructuring at Ernst & Young.
DLA Piper’s Spain managing partner Juan Picon said in a statement: “This is great news for DLA Piper in Spain and for the wider European practice and this will put DLA Piper at the top of restructuring practices in Spain.
“The EMEA restructuring group has significant expertise in the area of corporate restructuring and the appointment of the team will further enhance this.”
